Dr. Simeons is the creator of the HCG diet he postulates that “obesity is a disorder”. Under his theory that obesity is a treatable disorder that has nothing to do with willpower of the person suffering from it there was tons of research that led to the HCG diet.  This is a medical treatment not a fad diet.

According to Dr. Simeon there are three basic causes of obesity:

Ÿ  The Inherited Factor

Ÿ  Diencephalic Disorders

Ÿ  The Exhaustion of the Fat Bank

The inherited factor discusses the predisposed genetic factor for obesity.  This factor is largely debated in the scientific community. Simply because there is an increase that is ten fold in the obesity rate of many Americans that was not evident even three decades ago.  The theory is squashed by many scientists because of the lack of historical data.

These scientist that do not agree that obesity can be genetically predisposed consider obesity a life style issue and will not concede to a genetic link.

Diencephalic disorder occurs sometimes quite suddenly and can result in obesity. There are a number or disorders that fall into this category that are very treatable but are often not recognized until it is too late and the pounds have piled on.

The fat bank is where the fat in the body is stored.  The process may be working perfectly and than suddenly one day become disrupted for a  host of reasons. Once this disruption occurs usually due to a fat intake overload the fat bank no longer functions properly.

The only part of this process that is not treatable (but still can be kept under control is the genetic link).  Dr Simeon also discusses the accusations of the psychological communities by stating the following in his manuscript for the HCG diet “No end of injustice is done to obese patients by accusing them of compulsive eating, which is a form of diverted sex gratification. Most obese patients do not suffer from compulsive eating; they suffer genuine hunger – real, gnawing, torturing hunger – which has nothing whatever to do with compulsive eating. Even their sudden desire for sweets is merely the result of the experience that sweets, pastries and alcohol will most rapidly of all foods allay the pangs of hunger. This has nothing to do with diverted instincts. “ (ATW Simeons, Manuscript, Introduction HCG Diet)

Dr. Simeons on his quest to identify and treat the cause of obesity stumbled across the HCG hormone found only in pregnant women after many years of trial and error he perfected the plan to not only treat obesity but to cure it as well.  The processes seems a bit unconventional but it works by confusing the body into believing that it is pregnant both in males and females, the body reacts by not forming abnormal fat banks for storage.  The reserve fat is burned for use by the fetus in pregnancy, when there is no pregnancy the body flushes the fat out.  The fat is used much more efficiently during pregnancy.  This action is duplicated in non pregnant females as well as males.  This action along with a specialized diet can retrain the body to act efficiently with food intake.  Treatment requires the patient to be given injections on a daily basis this can be carried out by the health care provider or by the patient after training.

The treatment last no more than 26 days during one cycle, in cases where the patient need to lose more than 34lbs there may be a need for additional cycles of treatment. During the course of treatment sugars and starches are not permitted during the first three weeks, than can be gradually reintroduced through out the remainder of the course.  The dosage requires at least 23 injections per cycle but not more than 40 injections per cycle. The cycle is stopped if the patient loses 34 pounds during the course of a cycle, because after that point the weight loss is not attributed to the flushing of stored fat but instead results from the loss of normal fat.

HCG has shown much promise as a tool not only for weight loss but also for a cure for obesity. The studies have seen a 98% success rate and the weight loss has been permanent for almost 80% of all patients.

HCG diet must be supervised by a health care professional. This is a medical treatment and should be followed as such. There are strict dietary requirements which include force feeding oneself for the week before treatment begins to store as much fat as possible. This is a very important part of the process and can effect the amount of weight loss.(There is a large support group for DIY people through online forums)

The average weight loss varies between 1-5 pounds per day during the entire course of the treatment.

This is a powerful program that can get your body back on track, and the best part is not the weight loss believe it or not, it is in the feelings of being healthy

Yes the HCG diet is safe.  The HCG diet is over 40 years old.  However it has only recently been available in the United States and then only through weight loss clinics.  Previously it was very expensive to implement.  You would have had to leave the United States and look for a clinic in some foreign country.  That meant spending almost one month overseas or at least getting there to implement the protocol.

What makes this diet different from all the others is that it resets the hypothalamus, which is responsible for regulating the metabolism and keeps you from regaining the weight.  Of course you do need to eat sensibly.   Then when the hypothalamus is reset the weight tries to stay the same.   I use the word sensibly because you do not have to give up everything.  Actually, a woman can eat 11 times her weight in calories a day.  So if you weigh 140 pounds, you can eat 1500 calories a day.  A man can eat 14 time his weight in calories per day.  This is after the diet.

How long is this diet?  Minimum of 23 days of injections and an additional 3 weeks of  low carb and low sugar type diet.  Yes, you can eat all kinds of fat like bacon, eggs and cheeses.  Just keep carb count below 20 -30 per day for best results.  After the three weeks of phase3 of this protocol, you can start adding in those carbs and sugars a little at a time.  This diet will take off weight that is resistant to other types of dieting.  However it is a VERY RESTRICTIVE DIET and must be adhered to 100% for success.  There is no room for error.

It is important to understand that it is not only pounds, but inches that you will lose.  A lot of people do not understand that while on this diet one may go several days with no weight loss. There are still inches being lost.  It is a good idea to keep accurate measurements for this.  I recommend “Fitday” software for this diet program.

The original protocol that is followed almost 100% in most HCG weight loss clinics is the Dr. Simeons Pound & Inches protocol.  It is easy to understand and RitePrice.net will provide this information for free.
